America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride could not be a better name for this fundraiser. This cycling event is open to all ages and experience levels (ride selections may have age or experience requirements for safety.) This ride will take you on a 100-mile or 72-mile distance of your choosing with breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe as well as its surrounding nature and wilderness. Funds raised will provide financial assistance, research funding for innovative medicine and groundbreaking blood cancer treatments and care, as well as personalized support. The scenery, mountain air, and incredible feeling of supporting a great cause. Of all the things to do in South Lake Tahoe - this one is a must do event for any avid bicyclist. The start and finish line will be in parking lot C of the Hardrock Hotel a brief 5 minute walk from our front door.

Most Mileage: Beautiful & Historic Century 100-Mile Ride

For the more conditioned bicyclist, a full 100-mile Century is offered adding an out and back on Highway 89/ Bike Trail to visit historic Truckee, California, before continuing around Lake Tahoe.  This century option adds approximately 600 more vertical feet of elevation gain (4924 vertical feet).

Most Beautiful: The 72-Mile Ride

The 72-mile America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride circumnavigates the highways clockwise around Lake Tahoe in both Nevada and California. It includes a challenging 800-foot climb to a rest stop overlooking Emerald Bay and a 1,000-foot climb to Spooner Junction. There are also many short rolling ascents and descents totaling over 4,024 vertical feet of elevation gain! The altitude ranges between 6,300 feet and 7,100 feet above sea level and the ride is recommended for conditioned recreational bicyclists, not for beginners. Participants must be at least 14 years of age (please, no children on bike carriers or trailers) and must be experienced in riding roadways.

-Rest Stops with a great selection of food and beverage are offered overlooking Emerald Bay, Tahoe City, Truckee (for century riders), Kings Beach (lunch), a water stop at Half Spooner and at Spooner Junction. Drop bags will be provided at the first three rest stops if you choose to discard clothing.

-First Aid Medical Stations and standby ambulance service provided.

-Technical Support (Bike Mechanics) are stationed at the start-finish, rest stops and along the course. SAG Vans and Motorcycle SAG, can also assist with flat tires and minor mechanical issues.

-SAG Transport Service is provided to transport participants forward on the course and may be subject to delayed returns and final course sweep if one requires transport to the Finish.
