Add Some Lake Tahoe Flair to Your Wedding

Couple Holding Hands at Wedding

Looking to add a little touch of Lake Tahoe magic to your wedding? You’re in luck. Here are some Lake Tahoe inspired ideas that can help make your Tahoe wedding even more special.

Visit one of the many local breweries & serve our craft brews

We love our brews here in Tahoe — and you and your guests will too! We even have Lake Tahoe Brewfest every summer to celebrate our love of craft beer. There are some great breweries around here, including The Brewery At Lake Tahoe, Sidellis Lake Tahoe, South Lake Brewing Company, and more. They make a great spot for a bachelor/bachelorette celebration, post-wedding rehearsal get-together, and more. You can even serve some of our neighborhood beers at your wedding for a unique local experience.

Book a Lake Tahoe yoga experience

Wedding planning is stressful. Take some time to relax with a special yoga session with your wedding party. Lake Tahoe Yoga offers beach and paddleboard yoga classes that are sure to calm you down and help you find your center amid the wedding stress. They’re the perfect way to relax, bond with the wedding party, and soak up the breathtaking views you can’t find anywhere else. If you’re planning to honeymoon in Tahoe, a beachside yoga session can be a great way to wind down and connect with your new spouse as well.

Take some breathtaking Tahoe photos & videos

Of course, the picturesque scenery is one of the top reasons to have your wedding in Lake Tahoe. We’ve got crystal clear waters in the summer, vibrant leaves in the fall, and beautiful snow in the winter — you really can’t go wrong. Make the most of it by scheduling time for some great engagement photos and wedding day photos. Emerald Bay and Vikingsholm, Eagle Falls, and the Pope-Baldwin Recreation Area are a few of our favorite, Instagram-worthy photo spots.

Go with Lake Tahoe-themed favors or welcome baskets

If you’re hosting a destination wedding or a lot of guests are coming from out of town, it’s nice to give them a little taste of the area. Tahoe-themed wedding favors, welcome baskets, or wedding party gifts are a great way to do that. Potential items to include are:

  • Gift cards for a local cafe or coffee shop, like Alpina Coffee Café or Sprouts Cafe
  • Alcohol from a local winery, brewery, or distillery, like Tahoe Blue Vodka.
  • Customized mugs or shot glasses
  • Goodies from a local bakery, like Sugar Pine Cakery.
  • Outdoor essentials, like sunscreen and bug spray, for when they’re spending time enjoying the Tahoe scenery
  • A welcome/thank you note on a Lake Tahoe postcard for them to keep as a memento of the trip.

It never hurts to include a wedding schedule and some brochures for local attractions, like Heavenly Mountain Resort or a Lake Tahoe cruise, as well. That way guests know what there is to do for fun before/after the wedding celebrations.

Enjoy the fresh Tahoe air

Make sure to spend some time enjoying all the amazing recreational opportunities Tahoe has to offer. There really is no better place to have a memorable wedding weekend, so be sure you plan a few days for fun. Whether it’s a hike/bike ride on one of the many trails, hitting the ski slopes with the wedding party, or relaxing on the beach before the big day, there’s no shortage of fun outdoor activities. Scenic activities — like a hot air balloon ride, ride on the Heavenly Gondola, or parasailing over Lake Tahoe — are also a great way to soak up the Tahoe sun.
